For issuers
Launch a token
Issuing an asset on Stellar mainnet: the flow, the flat $25 cost and what you receive.
The Launchpad issues an asset on Stellar mainnet, mints its supply to you, and opens its first liquidity pool — in one flow, for a flat fee.
#What it costs
$25 in total, itemised:
| Component | Amount | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Token creation | $5 | Issuing the asset and minting your supply. |
| Starting liquidity | $10 | Goes into your own pool. This is not a fee — it is your liquidity, and you can withdraw it. |
| Pool and network setup | $10 | Creating the pool and covering the account reserves and network fees involved. |
You pay in XLM at the live rate, so the total stays $25 regardless of where XLM is trading.
#The flow
- Details. Choose the asset code and the total supply, and add the description and logo that will appear across the site.
- Review. Everything is shown before anything is signed, including the exact XLM amounts at the current rate.
- Sign. Your wallet approves the transactions that create the asset, mint the supply and open the pool.
- Confirmation. The asset exists on mainnet, its supply is in your account, and its pool is live and tradable.
#Choosing an asset code
Stellar asset codes are not unique and are not reserved. Picking a code somebody else already uses is allowed by the network and will make your asset harder to tell apart from theirs — which is everyone's problem, including yours. Pick something distinctive.
Supply is fixed at issuance
The supply you choose is minted to your account in the issuing transaction. Decide the number before you start.
#What you get
- An asset on Stellar mainnet, tradable immediately by anyone.
- The full supply in your account.
- A live liquidity pool with your $10 of starting liquidity, which you can add to or withdraw from like any other pool.
- A page on LumosCore for the asset, showing its price, pool and activity.
#What it does not get you
Issuing through LumosCore does not give your asset a verification mark. Our own domain cannot vouch for an asset — a handshake that resolves to a domain we control would only prove the token was minted here, which is not what the mark is for.
To be verified, publish a stellar.toml on your own domain and point the issuing account at it. See Asset verification. To be listed in the curated set, see Curated listing.
Issuance is permanent
An asset on a public ledger cannot be un-issued, and the transaction cannot be reversed. Check the code, the supply and the amounts on the review screen before you sign.
