Fees

What LumosCore charges, the LUMOS discount tier, and the costs that are the network’s.

Every charge is shown before you sign, and settles on-chain to a published address. Nothing is added to the quoted price, and no fee appears after a signature.

#What LumosCore charges

ActionFeeBasis
Swaps 0.2% Of the traded amount. Drops to 0.1% on the LUMOS tier below.
Limit orders Free No platform fee, whether the order fills or not. Network fee only.
Cross-chain 0.2% / 0.1% Of the amount transferred, on the same tier. Circle charges nothing for CCTP itself.
Liquidity pools Free No fee to create a pool, deposit or withdraw. Network fee only.
Token issuance $25 Flat, and itemised on the next page. Paid in XLM at the live rate.
Curated listing $250 Refunded in full, in the asset you paid, if the listing is declined.

#The LUMOS tier

Hold 250,000 LUMOS or more and the swap and cross-chain fee halves, from 0.2% to 0.1%. There is nothing to claim, stake or lock — the balance is read from the ledger when you connect, and the lower rate applies from then on.

Pool-held LUMOS counts

LUMOS sitting inside a liquidity pool counts toward the 250,000 threshold. Providing liquidity does not cost you the discount, which would otherwise punish the people doing the most useful thing with the token.

If your balance falls below the threshold the rate returns to 0.2%, and rises back to 0.1% the moment it does not. Nothing needs to be re-enabled.

#Fees that are not ours

Two other costs appear on a transaction, and neither is charged by LumosCore:

  • The Stellar network fee. A fraction of a cent per operation, paid to the network, not to us. It applies to every transaction including the free ones.
  • Liquidity pool fees. Stellar's own pools charge 0.3% on a swap that routes through them, which is paid to the liquidity providers of that pool — that is the yield behind providing liquidity. Trades that route through the order book instead do not incur it.

On a cross-chain transfer you also pay the destination network's own fee, in that network's gas token, when the funds are claimed. On Ethereum mainnet that can exceed everything else on this page — see Cross-chain.

#Where fees go

Platform fees settle on-chain, as a separate payment operation within the same transaction you signed. Because they are on-chain, they are auditable: the fee-collecting account and every payment into it can be inspected on any Stellar explorer, by anyone, without asking us.
