Connect a wallet

The five supported Stellar wallets, how connecting works, and what the site can and cannot do.

LumosCore never asks you to create an account. You connect a Stellar wallet you already control, and that wallet signs every transaction. Connecting is a read-only step: it tells the site your public address so it can show your balances and build transactions for you to approve.

#Supported wallets

WalletTypeNotes
FreighterBrowser extension The most widely used Stellar extension. Desktop browsers.
xBullBrowser extension Also available as a web wallet.
RabetBrowser extension Desktop browsers.
AlbedoWeb wallet Nothing to install — signing happens in a popup window.
LOBSTRMobile & web Connects over WalletConnect. On a phone this opens the LOBSTR app to approve.

#Connecting

  1. Select Launch App or any action that needs an address — the wallet chooser opens.
  2. Pick your wallet. Extensions prompt in the browser; Albedo opens a popup; LOBSTR opens on your phone.
  3. Approve the connection request in the wallet. It shares your public address and nothing else.

Your address then appears in the header, and pages that depend on it — Wallet, Pools, Rewards — fill in with your own data.

On mobile

LOBSTR is the practical choice: browser extensions are desktop-only. The connection is handed off to the LOBSTR app, which is where you approve it, and where you will approve every transaction afterwards.

#What connecting does and does not do

  • It shares your public address. That address is already public on the ledger — anyone with it can read your balances and history on any Stellar explorer.
  • It does not grant spending permission. There is no allowance or approval to revoke, as there is on some other networks. Every single transaction is signed individually.
  • It does not move your keys. Your private key stays in the wallet. LumosCore never sees it and has no way to ask for it.

We will never ask for your keys

Not your seed phrase, not your private key, not for support, not for verification, not for any reason at all. Anyone asking — on this site, by email, in a chat, or on social media claiming to be us — is trying to steal from you.

#Disconnecting

Select your address in the header and choose to disconnect. That clears the address from this browser. It is a local action: there is no session on our side to end, because there was never one to begin with.

#Before your first transaction

Stellar accounts need a small XLM balance to exist and to pay network fees, and each asset you hold reserves a little more. If you are new to Stellar, read Trustlines first — it explains why an asset you have been sent might not appear in your wallet yet, and what the reserve is for.
